home > Optimists’ Club

The Optimist Tour set off first in 1998 and has become popular since then. Within the confines of the Tour we hold lectures (how to be optimist, what are the benefits of living smiling…) and parties (with the help of the Kuna Family – Fortissimo, the Animal Canibals, Géczi Erika, and many more) in schools and community centres. The 12 000 club members, who are united through the aims of the club, can have fun on children’s fashion-shows, smiling competitions, carnival-season parties and face-painting and other free programs (Globe Theatre, Gerbeaud, Korridor Café, Cameleon Club, Zoo and others)

We develop close connections with not only profit-oriented institutions but also with civil organisations, for example the League for Child Protection (‘Gyermekvédő Liga’) together with whom we organise camps and trainings. Other such institutions are the Garabonciás Association, the Hungarian Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, the Sulinet, the PszichoDiák Association and the Battonya – SOS village. For this reason, the number of those inquirers who has not heard from the Optimist Club is constantly decreasing.

Since all services offered by the Club are free of charge for our members, constant search for sponsors and the cooperation of sponsors has been a keystone of our Club for nearly ten years. Thank you for supporting the Optimist Club in such huge numbers in the last years with advices, books, and other offerings.

The processing and scientific evaluation of nearly 40 000 questionnaire is in progress so that an ‘optimist report’ can be supplied for the people of Hungary. Still, our greatest appeal is probably our new portal and the vast number of opportunities accessible through it: anonymous psychological counsel, mental health assistance, different tenders, Dr. Cronio Pérez memorial, weekly/monthly newsletter, calendar with important events, horoscope, optimist quiz (called HUNOPTI), possibility to join the club, games and many more.

1. Never give up
2. You must believe in yourself. You will be able to achieve your goals if they are in accord with your talents. Be patient and persistent.
3. Always be helpful and nice with others. If you are open towards people, you will find your kindness abundantly “repaid” in your personal relationships.
4. Always consider important decisions carefully.
5. You must remain an optimist even in difficult situations. This is not so simple and sometimes you may have to see reality a little bit distorted in order to make it tolerable.
6. Share your problems, but your success too, with your friends and those you love. You give them the greatest happiness if you are successful and contented.
7. Concentrate on the present. If you do this, your wounds will heal with time.
8. Try to find similarities instead of differences in people.
9. Protect nature. Only then can you live in harmony with your environment.
10. A smile can do bigger things than you would imagine. Some humour and positive thinking will help you to know that life is beautiful.
